> 1. High Concept:
> 1.1 Game
Quest for the Golden Jam is a single-player platformer game whose goal is to reach the level’s end and retrieve the Golden Jam. It is set in a world with multiple and fractured timelines. The game’s protagonist is a Time Templar, a member of the Order of the Templars of Time, a human that has the power to jump between timelines.
You start the game in the year 2024 and have to proceed in the level to find the Golden Jam. But each timeline, 1924, 2024 and 3024 all have missing sections. To reach the game’s end, you use the Templar’s powers to move between timelines and hence pass the game’s obstacles.
> 1.2 Story
In a different alternate universe, time’s been fractured. The different realities clash with each other and cause never before seen horrors, nightmares and other unexplainable anomalies. Against the wave of these uncertainties, a mysterious solution presents itself—the Golden Jam. This mysterious substance whose origin and other properties are still unknown, appears at random in different timelines.
To locate the jar of Golden Jam, the Order of the Templars of Time was created in the year 2024 AA. Through their limited understanding and studies of the Golden Jam, their order has developed the Gray Jam, a substance that once consumed allows them to jump into different timelines.
> 2. Level Design:
> 2.0 “Three Worlds”
The game consists of three levels and one big level at the same time. The big game level, starts from imaginary point A and ends at imaginary point B (the level’s end – place where the Golden Jam is located). The three sections or “smaller” levels, are each a different unique imaginary timeline. The initial timeline, the one you start the game in, is a replica of our world of 2024. The second timeline is a jump into the black and white past of 1924, and the third timeline is a jump into the neon lit world of 3024. Each timeline can be easily distinguished by its color scheme as mentioned above. Below you can see an image from each timeline.
> 2.1 Platforming
As a platformer, to reach the level’s end in Quest for the Golden Jam, you have to jump up and down on platforms, jump over dangerous life-ending holes, be patient and time your movements, etc.

> 3. Goals for the Game:
Keeping in mind the scope of Game Jam 2.0 Albania, our main aim as a team is to create a functioning game in 48 hours. Furthermore, we’d like to create an engaging and entertaining game. On the technical side of things, we’ll try to make a game that runs smoothly and has no technical issues.
> 3.1 What could be next?
The idea of the game can be further much expanded into the future, with elements such as more timelines, more complex platforming, longer and additional levels, better graphics, etc.
We’re adding a “Story” part to our main menu, where players can learn a bit more about the lore of the game, its worlds and possibly some of its key entities, such as the Order of the Templars of Time. We hope for the players to engage with the Story section after finishing the game and either give them something more from Quest for the Golden Jam, feed something in their imagination, or maybe build anticipation for a larger version of the game.

> 4. Character:
The protagonist of the game, the character you play with and engage with the world of the Quest for the Golden Jam, is a highly trained and one of the finest members of the Order of the Templars of Time. Not much else is known about her, as the Order is famed for its secrecy; not her name, not her age, not her origin.
